GPS-Photo Link has two distinct Series:

The GIS Pro Series is designed for users who wish to use advanced coordinate systems or include photos in professional mapping software such as Esri's ArcGIS®. The Express Series is designed for users who wish to document where photos were taken but who will not include them in a professional mapping system. In the product descriptions below, features in italics are specific to that series.

GPS-Photo Link: GIS Pro Series
The GPS-Photo Link GIS Pro Series automatically links digital photographic images with GPS location and other attribute data. It uses the location data to accurately map the photographs in their correct locations for display on a digital map layer such as Google Earth or in a geographic information system (GIS) such as ArcGIS.

Key Features

  • Geotags and maps photos collected with any digital camera coupled with GPS.
  • Creates customizable watermarked pictures allowing the user to imprint key information on the photos such as logos, lat/lon, datum, direction, name, date, time, elevation and comments.
  • Creates customizable reports in html, Micorsoft Word, and Adobe .pdf files. The reports can include watermarked photos and detailed maps showing the photo's location using Google Maps, MapBlast, Tiger, USGS aerial photos, or USGS topo maps. Html output includes an overview map and displays list of thumbnails for all photos.
  • Creates Google Earth files (.kml and .kmz) for easy sharing with clients. Output allows users to show 3d cone images of the field of view and distance.*
  • Outputs Esri ArcSDE Enterprise Geodatabases, Personal and File Geodatabases, and Shape Files.
  • Compatible with ArcGIS 8.x and higher.
  • ArcGIS plug-in allows the user to process photos and create reports from within ArcGIS. GPS-Photo Link can display Ricoh Camera Memos along with the photo when hovering over a feature point in ArcGIS.
  • Supports GPX File Format (.GPX) enabling users to interface with a greater variety of programs, including Garmin's MapSource.
  • Creates Access and .csv files to show attribute information as a database or table.
  • Live map preview for photo location editing.
  • Allows exif header editing.
  • Batch editing of photos and attribute data.
  • Robust project management.
  • Supports advanced Ricoh G700SE digital camera features including memo fields, compass heading, and Bluetooth connectivity with external GPS or Laser Rangefinder devices for accurate distance to objects.*
  • Can create an "offset" position based on distance and direction within ArcGIS.*
  • Allows viewing of Ricoh G700SE geo-coded video clips from ArcGIS or web output.
  • Relates images to bar codes when used with the Ricoh G700SE.
  • Rotates symbols to indicate the direction the photo was taken.*
  • Can batch rename files based on attributes such as Comment + Date/Time making photos easier to find.*
  • Allows editing of pictures for brightness, contrast, and rotation. Users can add draw on photos and add supplemental text.
  • Outputs additional camera parameters such as focal length, F number and aperture, exposure, and ISO.
  • Plays recorded audio in Extra Data Screen.
  • GPS track logs can be displayed in Google Earth or MapSource.
  • Blue Marble data conversion supports most datum and grid coordinates including State Plane and HARN.
  • Software comes with 30 days free upgrades and support.

*Data such as direction, comments/memo fields, and distance can automatically be recordedusing the Ricoh G700SE coupled with the compass and laser range finder, and used for mapping purposes. Most other cameras do not provide these capabilities, however; that data can be manually entered by the user during photo processing in GPS-Photo Link.

GPS-Photo Link: Express Series
The GPS-Photo Link Express Series is designed for users who wish to document where photos were taken but who will not include them in a professional mapping system. The flexibility and functionality of GPS-Photo Link Express appeals to law enforcement, real estate, emergency response, engineering & construction, and oil & gas personnel. Any industry that requires photographic documentation for regulatory compliance, reporting purposes, or evidence gathering can benefit from this fast and easy-to-use geotagging and mapping software.

Consider using your GPS camera on your iPhone or iPad2 with the new GeoJot data collection app! GeoJot allows iPhone and iPad 2 users to enter attribute descriptions (name, condition, value, etc) and attach them to photographs as they are taken. In addition, the application geotags photos with GPS coordinates that are more accurate than is standard for these devices. Photos acquired with GeoJot must be emailed or downloaded to a personal computer running GPS Photo Link to access the enhanced accuracy and attribute information outside of the iPhone/iPad platform. Use GPS-Photo Link desktop software to extract the enhanced information and create - printed reports, ESRI Shape Files and GeoDatabases, Google Earth maps, watermarked photos, and more.
